Aesop Inspired

Oil

No. 14 in the Ravens & Crows series is completed and my muse is beginning to wander.

We Got This, No. 14 Ravens & Crows, (available), oil, 9x12, © June Rollins

A diminutive fox, light and graceful on its feet, crossed in front of me on my way to work a few days ago. I slowed and watched it go down an embankment and enter a brush covered field. It was searching for something. Since then…

My mind has gone to Aesop’s, The Fox and the Crow, and all it’s interpretations in different cultures through the centuries. Was the crow vain or a victim? Was the fox shrewd or wicked? Depends on the version you read.

All this and more swirling as I begin my next series, Foxes I’ve Known.

In processs, Foxes I’ve Known No. 1

As far as Ravens & Crows, some are drying, some are in galleries and some have sold. Thankful.
