A Flower a Day…

How is it that painting a simple watercolor can bring me such joy? I love the process of slowing down, observing why I feel connected to the subject and reaching for pigments and water for the translation.

Folk School Gardens

The zinnia I painted was gathered from the Folk School gardens. I’ve painted several because I’m preparing for a 12:30-2 pm, July 15th watercolor demo outside the Craft Shop. Flowers blooming now are a perfect subject for our students and visitors to see and perhaps be encouraged to visit our gardens and consider one of our watercolor classes.

Maybe it’s that simple. A flower a day gathered, observed and painted brings joy. Creative expression brings joy.

Enjoying the Journey From the Art,
