Ravens & Crows

The Watcher is the first in the Ravens & Crows series I began earlier this month. I’m having a great time researching and learning about these seemingly near identical birds from the Corvid family.
Physical characteristics, behaviors, similarities and differences are all intriguing elements I’m endeavoring to interpret in my paintings. Fun fact: ravens and crows are the only North American bird species that are completely black in color. I love mixing different pigments to create the illusion of beautiful blacks.
