Sweet Dreams

Sweet Dreams, 6x8, oil, © June Rollins

Ever had a night of tossing and turning rampaging mind chatter? I had one last night.

Around midnight my inner voices were in the ring. In one corner we had Sally Self-righteous campaigning, picketing, and mudslinging. In the opposite corner we had Wanda Worrywort cowering, declining, and running scared. Sally was crushing Wanda until Merritt the Mediator intervened and called a truce.

My few hours of negotiated early morning sleep may not have been as blissful as Sweet Dreams, but the brief respite was restorative. I’ll need the energy for tonight’s round two.
