In the Pink

In the Pink, 9x12, oil, © June Rollins

Every year I’m inspired by flowers blooming in our yard, on the drive to work, and at the Folk School. I paint them from life and photos. In the Pink is painted from a photo I took last year of our Quick Fire Hydrangea.

It’s standing strong and sturdy now, all leafed out and covered with tight green budding bloom clusters. I’m looking forward to seeing it blossom in real life in a few weeks and soaking in it’s quick fire inspiration.

Nothing ever seems impossible in spring you know. -L.M. Montgomery
